Vapor Blasting

from 24.99

One of the most daunting tasks for any restoration is how to clean and prep parts for inspection, reassembly, paint, polishing, or even powdercoat.

Vapor blasting is a unique process which causes no damage or scouring to gasket surfaces, plastic, rubber, or bearing journals.

Brogue Motorcycles now offers an affordable vapor blasting service (sometimes called vapor honing) to all our customers.

Benefits

1. Attractive Finish

The vapor blasting process uses a combination of pressurized water and smooth media. The water cushions the impact of the media and also lubricates the action of the media against the surface of the part. This is what gives Vapor Honed components their bright smooth finish.

2. Gentle Process

Gentle and safe to use on threads, engravings and surfaces on which tolerances must be maintained. It is a cold process that, unlike bead blasting, doesn’t generate heat and won’t cause distortion.

3. Durability & Longevity

Components will retain their appearance due to the peening and sealing nature of the finish. Particularly with aluminum, the pores of the metal are peened closed which prevents future staining and corrosion. This ensures that your components will look attractive and stay clean for many years to come.

4. Cleaning

Our process deep cleans parts as it finishes it. Oil, grease, dirt and other residue is thoroughly removed from the surface of parts—perfect for inspections and reassembly.

5. How about unwanted abrasives in my motor?

We take special care to plug and cap any passage way that could carry any unwanted debris. We’ve formulated a multi step process to help eliminate any contamination.

Please be aware that we take care in what we do, but we are not liable for any debris left behind. We strongly suggest you inspect and blow out any passage ways before assembly.

Shipping

Please ship your parts as you would like them blasted. What does that mean?

If you leave gasket material, bearings, seals, or any other parts assembled, we will need to disassemble and charge accordingly. Clean (degrease), disassemble, and package your parts to perfection and the process will be a joy for both parties.

How clean is clean?

Parts need to be free of grime, dirt, and other major debris.

Disassemble (yes even carburetors), remove any bearings, seals, or internals of parts before you ship. That’s how we can keep cost low and our process running smoothly.

What about shipping and who pays?

It’s simple, you send the items to us and we pay the return shipping. Send us an email taking care to specify the dimensions and weight of your package, and we will provide you with a discounted rate and the appropriate USPS label.
